North Springs Charter PTSA

Part of our charter requires that all families join the PTSA and contribute 10 volunteer hours per family,
per year. We recognize that many families contribute significantly more hours than the minimum
required, and the administration, teachers, and most importantly our students appreciate the benefits
of your parental involvement.  Click
here for information about Volunteer opportunities, Recruiting,
Forms
, and Hours at North Springs!

Special Message about SPLOST IV from North Springs PTSA, click here

It's important to your school, your student, your neighborhood and your stake in the community (including property values) to understand the issues involved.
Did you know that voting to approve SPLOST IV in the general election on November 8 does not add any additional sales tax to existing rates in Fulton County
and City of Atlanta, but simply continues the current penny sales tax approved by voters for SPLOST III?  North Fulton Council PTA and Fulton County Schools
are presenting information to the community at a special meeting hosted at NSHS on Wednesday, October 5 at 9am.  Invite your Homeowner Association
representatives, fellow parents and neighbors to attend this informational meeting.  For additional SPLOST IV information, click the following link
http://www.fultonschools.org/SPLOST4/Default.aspx, which includes a link to how SPLOST IV funded projects will impact the North Springs Cluster of schools.

Your tax dollars at work at NSCHS
We're excited about the proposed major renovations that will take place at North Springs beginning next summer 2012 to include the front of the school and
parking lot with funds collected from SPLOST III.

NS Parents:

You are invited to attend a college and career session with representatives from GAcollege411 and Georgia
Career Information Center.

GAcollege411 is a resource which offers Georgia-specific college, career and financial planning.  The website is a
source of assistance for completing college and financial aid applications, and for exploring Georgia colleges that
match a student's interests.  Fulton County is now using GAcollege411 with middle and high school students, and it
will be helpful for families to understand how to get the most out of this resource and to understand how it is best
used for your student.

The Georgia Career Information System (GCIS) is an online tool that provides current and accurate occupational
and educational information to schools and agencies throughout Georgia in order to help young people and adults
make informed career choices.

Representatives from Fulton County and the two web-based programs will be on-hand at the request of NS to
demonstrate their programs and answer questions.  Learn how these online resources can help your student find
college and career advice.
We’re VERY excited to be coming back to host another Accident Avoidance Workshops weekend at the
invitation of North Springs Charter High School!

NOW, WE DO STILL HAVE A FEW SPACES AVAILABLE, so tell your peers, colleagues, relatives, friends
Romans and Countrymen!  THINK ABOUT IT … if you expect your student to be a PASSENGER in one of their
friends’ car, don’t you want THAT friend trained too?  The Workshops are a BLAST when friends take this
together … so have their parents sign them up too!
