Teachers, Student and Parent Groups:  Do you need to RECRUIT
volunteers for a school event?
If you would like to request volunteers for an event, please fill in this form
and email it back to the volunteer coordinator with as much information as
possible at least two – three weeks prior to the event.

Position Descriptions

Career Center Volunteer Coordinator
Create a list of volunteers and their contact information.  Coordinate with volunteers to create a
schedule for parents to work in the career center on Mondays and Thursdays during lunch.  Reports to
Student Enrichment VP.
Career Center Volunteer(8-12)
Be present in the career center so that it can be open for students during their free period.  Help out
with senior PUSH program.  Work a few times a month.  If you need to cancel, find a replacement.  
Reports to CC Volunteer Coordinator.

College Seminar Coffee (2)
Work with the counseling department to host a college seminar event.  Coordinate with hospitality for
refreshments. Reports to Student Enrichment VP.

International Night - Chair and Committee(2-4)
Assist Marilu Anderson with International night. Provides organizational and volunteer support for
International  Night.   Chair reports to Student Enrichment VP.

Teen Health Night- Chair and Committee(2-6)
Coordinate with the SLA (students who handle clubs and community service day) to integrate teen
health seminars into the day set aside for community service.   Assist with securing speakers.  Organize
adult volunteers to supervise the event.   Coordinate with hospitality for refreshments for speakers and
vendors.  Work with Teen Health Art Coordinator. Reports to Student Enrichment VP.

Teen Health Art Competition Coordinator
Organize an arts competition  similar to reflections.  Finalist will present on Teen Health Night.  Winner
will receive cash prize.  Member of the THN Committee.

Accident Avoidance Workshop Liaison
Coordinate with the company that hosts these to schedule 2 sessions during the year.  Put in a facilities
request form and serve as the contact person for any questions about this program.  Follow up by
collecting proceeds and giving check to PTSA treasurer. Reports to Student Enrichment VP.

Test Prep Coordinator
Contact Princeton Review and set up ACT, PSAT and SAT prep classes for our students.  Find out if there
is a charge for them to host these classes and if some of the proceeds can come back to the school.  
Find out cut off scores for Merit Scholars and publicize this so 9th and 10th grade students will know
how close they are to qualifying for scholarships.  Reports to Student Enrichment VP.

Speakers Bureau Coordinator
Will assist with getting speakers in for classes and with 1-3 school wide presentations.  This year we
would like to have the Shakespeare group from Oglethorpe visit.  Reports to Student Enrichment VP.

PTSA Scholarship - Chair and Committee(2-5)
Organize the scholarship application and selection process for the PTSA scholarship. Reports to Student

    PTSA Meetings will be held monthly
    generally alternating between mornings
    and evenings of the first Wednesday of
    the month with some exceptions.  

    Location:  Media Center (with the
    exception of Sept. 1 and May 1 General
    Meetings)
